Computer-based fire simulations are used to evaluate any smoke spreading and temperatures in the case of fire. This makes a virtual analysis of the fire possible.

In our fire simulations so-called CFD models such as FDS (fire dynamics simulator) and STARCCM+ produced by CD-adapco are used. STARCCM+ is a full CFD program covering all issues of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.  In cases of fire this also enables an analysis of interior air flow on any type of complex room geometries.

Due to our computer capacities (computer clusters > 200 processors) and the option of parallel computing, we are able to carry out fire simulations in the shortest possible time, including elaborate parameter studies.
